Tutorial: How To Use a PS3/360 controller in Minecraft (PC)

Learn how to use your PS3 or Xbox 360 controller with your computer to play Minecraft. We supply the necessary software and will show you how to do it. Watch the videos below to get started!


What you will need...

  • Computer
  • Controller
  • USB Cable
  • Minecraft
  • Xpadder*
  • MotionJoy DS3 Tool (for PS3)*
  • Xbox Controller Drivers (for 360)*
* Included in the download located below.

 

Downloads (Right-Click and "Save As".)


For use with an Xbox 360 Controller:
Windows (32-Bit) http://www.nickstech.net/minecraftcontroller/Xbox-32.zip

For use with a PS3 Controller:

***If you cant get the analog sticks to work on your controller, follow these steps:***

 

  1. Unplug Controller
  2. Exit from Motioninjoy (DS3 Tools) Make sure it is closed completely
  3. Plug in Controller
  4. Open Motioninjoy (DS3 Tools)
  5. Select Playstation 2 (POV, Joysticks)
  6. Enable
  7. Test It

***If DS3 Tool does not detect your controller, follow these steps:***
  1. Uninstall the software and delete it
  2. Restart your computer
  3. Plug in your controller and let Windows detect it, wait a minute...
  4. Open the software back up and see if it now detects it
